RGT is an international competition designed to develop and promote talent across the research, data and insights industry. The competition launched in Australia in 2020 and supports young professionals by encouraging them to use their research and insights skills to support local charities and NGOs to help overcome pressing social issues.

The Australian finalists (in alphabetical company order) are:

  • Marissa Tsioutsis & Roger Kong from Fiftyfive5 for their project titled, Supporting the vision to free Australia from youth homelessness
  • April Zhao & Morgan Smith from Kantar Public for their project titled, Writing for Wellbeing
  • Mitch Kloet & David Roberts from Lewers Research for their project titled, Youth Involvement Program Scoping.

The finalists go through to the next round of virtual judging on Wednesday, May 4 2022, with the winning entry submitted to ESOMAR’s global competition. Winners are also invited to attend the ADIA Leaders Forum held on May 26 in Sydney and ESOMAR’s congress in Toronto, Canada.

Sarah Campbell, CEO of ADIA, said: "I love this joint initiative. It demonstrates the importance of supporting and recognising our exceptional young talent, showcases the industry, and shines a light on the immense value that quality research, data, and insights can bring to a prominent social issue.

"We were also delighted to receive so many entries this year, all of the highest calibre, which makes it challenging for the judges but reflects the incredible skill of our purpose-driven young researchers. All of our entrants submitted excellent ideas across significant social issues that require support, and we look forward to the final round."
