Akari's benefitsAkari will provide a single, integrated solution to host consistent, quality-assured data across the University Group. Akari will manage both the approval and review of courses and modules, eventually replacing Kuali and the Module Information Directory (MID). Akari will be available for colleagues involved at any stage of the entire course development, approval process and curriculum management. The curriculum management software will provide visibility of where courses are in the approval process, including the flexibility to communicate the complete offer and the opportunity to record accreditations and external examiners accurately. The software will also help to drive efficiency, sustainability, and adaptability to support the needs of future learners. This visit, coordinated with Jacek Lewandowski, the Campus Director, showcases a prime example of the collaborative dynamics between the Wroclaw campus and the wider Coventry University Group. The focal point of the visit was a comprehensive two-day workshop dedicated to enhancing student engagement within the context of Coventry University: Wroclaw. Hannelie, leading the program, facilitated a series of discussions and activities aimed at addressing various challenges and exploring innovative ideas. The dedication and expertise of the team were evident as they engaged in these in-depth academic discussions. This visit offered the opportunity for direct face-to-face interaction with the staff at Wroclaw, which provided a level of depth and understanding that significantly enhanced the effectiveness of the workshop. These face-to-face interactions are invaluable for fostering a collaborative atmosphere and understanding nuanced academic contexts. This visit laid the groundwork for ongoing dialogue and collaboration. The relationships developed during this trip are not merely professional courtesies but are integral to the future cooperation and shared progress of both campuses. This venture stands as a testament to the Coventry University Group's commitment to fostering a globally connected and engaged academic community. The visit was marked by an exchange of culture and hospitality. The warm reception by the Wroclaw team underscored the importance of personal connections in professional relationships. The team also had the opportunity to experience local cuisine, including Pizza, Huel and Polish Dumplings!

Ian Upton Professor Natascha Radclyffe-Thomas, is the Vice Chair for PRME UK & Ireland Chapter. The PRME i5 programme brings novelty to SDG leadership education by focusing on pedagogical approaches that make sustainable development the norm for responsible management education & leadership in business education. Impactful 5 at Coventry UniversityOn the 30th October we welcomed Professor Natascha Radclyffe-Thomas to Coventry University who shared with staff insights on the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) Impactful 5 (i5) Programme. The i5 refers to characteristics of playful learning and development of five skills for our students: cognitive, emotional, creative, social, and physical. Prof Radclyffe-Thomas guided participants through the i5 framework and demonstrated how to put pedagogy into action through hands-on activities. Staff from across the University Colleges attended and engaged in a wonderful session where elements of playful learning were incorporated into our sharing of practice. Playful Interludes and Assessment Transformation with Coventry University London Campus.Colleagues from Academic Development travelled to the Coventry University London Campus on 15th of November. In the morning session Erika Hawkes supported colleagues to explore playful interludes for teaching. Colleagues considered how small moments of playfulness could promote student creativity, innovation, and engagement through trying a series of hands-on playful activities, before turning feedback into paper balls and dunking them into the ‘feedbasket’! The afternoon session supported the ongoing assessment transformation work at Coventry University London Campus, with a focus on assessment design to mitigate academic misconduct. Martin Jenkins and Erika Hawkes led the workshop, addressing different impetuses for academic misconduct, and helping colleagues explore different ways assessment design could support good academic practice. Particular emphasis was placed on ways to nurture students’ assessment literacies and on how a whole-course approach to assessment can reduce the pressure students feel. Hany Wells, Academic Dean at CU London, praised the ‘excellent’ session and noted how the points raised were important in the ongoing project to transform assessment across CU London courses.
