CATEGORY SEGMENTS

Building A Better Contact Lens Business

Any independent practice committed to full-scope optometry will tell you that contact lenses are a necessary and viable product category for potential patient solutions. Over the past ten years, the appeal of contact lenses has fluctuated due to factors such as online competition and margin pressures, but this week’s focus is designed to show you how contact lenses could present a viable growth opportunity for your practice.

Myths will be dispelled, concerns will be addressed, and various ways to increase your focus on the category will be explored. Category segments such as Ortho-K and Myopia Management will be referenced to help you develop areas of special interest that increase patient loyalty over time, so we encourage you this month to investigate different ways of better integrating contact lenses into your overall practice offer.

The following considerations should be revisited as part of establishing category viability and assessing growth opportunities:

  • What is the real value of a lifetime contact lens patient?
  • How to keep the online threat from competitors in perspective and still maintain a viable contact lens business
  • What is the tangible benefit of nurturing dual wearer patients (ie spectacle and contact lens wearers)?
  • How can you increase the frequency of contact lens discussion points in the patient journey to optimise new wearers and minimise patient dropout?

Growing Revenue Webinar

The Building a Better Contact Lens Business webinar was presented last night by ProVision’s three contact lens Supplier Partners. Each of the above areas is examined in greater detail to help practices optimise category growth.

If you missed the event, don't worry - we'll be sharing a link to the recording next week!

REFERRAL PARTNERS

Openpay & Optomate Touch Integration

Openpay is excited to announce its partnership with Monkey Software Pty Ltd. This is a huge step forward for all practices currently using Optomate Touch V2.1.0, allowing them the ease of processing any Openpay payment plan directly in their practice management system and alleviating the need to access Openpay’s portal.

Cassandra Treuer, your National Account Manager, will be reaching out to existing ProVision Optometrists in the coming weeks, confirming the date of release and explaining next steps for a successful configuration at practice-level. Cassandra will also provide detailed training on how to process the plans once setup is complete.
