Student Success StoriesCongratulations to the following students! When Mohameden moved to U.S., he knew he needed a path to achieve his goals. He chose Literacy Pittsburgh because it offered the free classes and support he needed to succeed. Now after advancing his English and digital skills, he’s landed a job with UPMC!
Hear his take on the impact of his education: “Literacy Pittsburgh helped me deal with other linguistically. It helped me prepare for speaking in interviews and working with my colleagues in the hospital. I love Literacy Pittsburgh, and I owe them a lot.” What a powerful story! Fadila arrived in the U.S. from Algeria in 2016, speaking little English. A friend introduced her to Literacy Pittsburgh, where she was matched with a volunteer tutor. Fadila also launched Sing & Say English, a YouTube channel teaching kids English. “I am very appreciative of your organization’s help!” Fadila said. Thanks to Literacy Pittsburgh—and her determination—Fadila is living her American dream. Share your success story with us! You can help inspire others who are overcoming barriers and working toward their goals. Email it to Najlaa at nebrahim@literacypittsburgh.org "There is no end to education. It is not that you read a book, pass an examination, and finish with education. The whole life, from the moment you are born to the moment you die, is a process of learning." “Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.” |
