A multi-award-winning care home group has welcomed an innovative set of new guidelines which aim to improve care for residents living with diabetes following the successful launch of a training scheme in three of its centres. Hallmark Care Homes held the first of many training sessions in collaboration with DUET diabetes recently at Henley Manor in Henley-on-Thames, Chamberlain Court in Royal Tunbridge Wells and Greenhill Manor in Merthyr Tydfil. The anonymous survey, which takes approximately 10 minutes to complete, aims to help identify the work-related well-being concerns of diabetes specialist trainee registrars. One in 10 adults in the UK have turned to their local pharmacy for advice on how to prevent serious health conditions such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease and cancer, a new YouGov survey has revealed. Commissioned by the British Heart Foundation (BHF), Cancer Research UK, Diabetes UK and Tesco, the survey suggests that many people could be missing out on opportunities to access free advice via their local pharmacies that could help them make life-changing improvements to their health.
