We're nearing the end of mid-semester break, and this Student News is full of events coming up over the next week.

With relaxing times in lawns, sunset music sessions and exciting quiz nights, it’s full of opportunities to have a great time in your style.

If you are a creative wizard, check out the competitions to make the best of your talent.

Next month is all about driving conversations around mental health awareness and wellbeing. Lots of events are lined up to encourage healthy practices for your inner peace.

Mental Health Awareness Month

October is all about your mental health and wellbeing. You can engage in fun and informative sessions to improve the mental wellbeing of yourself and others.

The full Mental Health Awareness month programme is available on the Wellbeing Hub.

In week one, get together, move and connect over food! Check out outdoor games with a twist, cookie munching, recreational running and team lunches. Then prepare to get creative in week two with reed diffusers, planting and resilience building. Visit Wellbeing Hub for more info.

Want to see 4000 copies of your artwork AND win a $400 gift card?

Submit your entry to 2022 Diary Cover Art Competition. The Adelaide University Union (AUU) are looking for a student artist to create artwork for the cover of their 2022 AUU diary. Submissions close 5 pm on Friday 8 October. For full details and brief visit the AUU website.

MyAdelaide: New features available
MyAdelaide now includes access to your finances. You can view your account information and commonwealth assistance eligibility status, download invoices, and make payments. Visit the ITDS website for information. You can also share your feedback to help future development.

Security office has relocated
The Security office on North Terrace campus has moved from the Oliphant building and is now located on level 4 of the Wills building. It’s entrance is in the undercroft opposite the International Students office. You’ll find signs directing you to the Security Office around the campus.

Tax Help - Contact now for a free on-campus appointment
As a student of the University you may be eligible to receive free tax help. A free on-campus service is available to assist students with simple tax returns and queries if your income was less than $60,000 in 2020/2021. Contact Student Care for an appointment. Limited appointments are available

Election of students to University Council
Every two years, an undergraduate and a postgraduate student representative are elected to the University Council. On 1 October, eligible voters will receive an email from BigPulse.com, containing a link to an online nomination form. Nominations must be completed by noon on 15 October. For more information, visit the Council election website.

Contribute to On Dit's creative writing issue
On Dit's creative writing and literature-themed edition, Hearsay, is coming soon, and the editorial team is after prose, poetry, reviews, and everything in-between to fill up the pages. Submissions close Friday 8 October 11.59 pm, so get cracking! Send them a pitch and check out some ideas in the content call out.

2022 International Peer Mentor applications now open
Join the International Peer Mentor program where you can plan and run events, help international students and develop your leadership skills. Applications are open for Peer Mentor positions for both onshore and offshore students, and both international and domestic students can apply.

Take part in the National Safety Survey
The National Student Safety Survey is open until 3 October. If you’ve received an email inviting you to participate, please respond – it’s important to hear from you, whether or not you’ve experienced sexual violence, coercion or harassment of any kind. If you haven’t received the email, find it here.

Women’s Recreational Running Mental Health Awareness October Challenge
every Tuesdays and Thursdays in October
This October, join the Women’s Recreational Running Mental Health Awareness October Challenge, to win great prizes including a FitBit. The UoA team runs every Tuesday and Thursday at 5.15 pm and meets at the UoA Footbridge Southside, on Victoria Drive. Register via their Eventbrite page to join the challenge.

Tribute to the Honourable Hieu Van Le AC
Wednesday 6 October, 5:30 to 6:30 pm - Elder Hall
The Tribute to the Honourable Hieu Van Le AC has been rescheduled to Wednesday 6 October. This is an opportunity for our community to celebrate the contribution Mr and Mrs Le have made to our State. The event will include a performance by students from the Elder Conservatorium of music.
