Guidance for consumer protection and harm minimisation and prevention set out in the Online Casino Gambling Regulations 2026 has now been published.

This first phase of guidance will provide additional clarity and support potential online casino gambling providers to understand their obligations under the Online Casino Gambling Act 2026.

For providers who are successful at winning the right to apply for a licence at the auction, the detailed guidance should be used to inform the strategies that show you are willing and able to meet all the regulatory requirements as part of the application process.

The next phase of guidance which covers advertising regulations and other legislative matters such as fees, levies and duties can be expected later this month.

Questions and answers update

The next batch of questions and answers has been published on our website. If you have asked us a question and it’s not answered yet, there will be a final batch of questions and answers published by the end of this week.

We have now closed the Q&A form on the DIA website. For those participating in the three-stage licensing process, you will be able to ask questions during the process through the Government Electronic Tender Services (GETS) website.

For all other interested parties who are not participating in the licensing process, you will hear from us again with information on how you can engage after the auction at stage two of the licensing process is complete.
