Semester 2 is finally here, and it's started with a bang!

Classes have started and campuses are back to business, but in all this excitement please remember that the flu, COVID and coughs and colds are running rampant right now, so when possible please wear a mask and keep using hand sanitiser.

Hopefully you're getting back into the swing of things, though, and managing to stay warm this week - there's plenty of opportunities this week, from volunteering to career mentoring, studying in Malaysia and even more.

COVID-19 reminder
Please remember that the wearing of masks is strongly recommended to limit the spread of COVID-19. Anyone with any COVID or Flu symptoms should not attend campus. You should get a PCR test, and even if negative for COVID-19 please do not attend until your symptoms pass. Further information is available here.

Visit the Aboriginal societies of Sarawak while providing the opportunity to critically think and find solutions to community challenges and struggles. This program is supported by the Australian Government’s New Colombo Plan and funding is available to eligible students, so apply here for this once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Open Day Volunteers Needed!
Would you like to be involved in one of the largest on-campus University events? We are looking for students to fill a range of volunteer roles at Open Day (Sunday 14 August) including at Q&A Sessions, the Tours Hub, and Welcome Tents. Australian Junior Volleyball Championships Gold Medal Win!
Congratulations to students Esteban Cure (No.11) and Toby Willis (No.7) who represented South Australia at the Australian Junior Volleyball Championships. Their team secured the U19 Gold Medal at Sydney's Olympic Park in early July. Esteban is currently studying Health and Medical Sciences and Toby is studying Engineering.

Participate in the SSAF Survey for a chance to win $100
The annual Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) survey is now open and every student who participates will go into the draw for a chance to win a $100 gift voucher. The survey aims to capture your views on priority areas for SSAF funding. The Survey will remain open until Wednesday 10 August.

The AUU is now 'YouX'
You may have already heard, but the AUU are now excited to share their new name and logo. While their collateral will be undergoing a change, their team, services and mission remain the same – to enhance your experience at the University of Adelaide. Head to youx.org.au to learn more.

Sconefest - a musical jam with scones and cream!

Featuring current and past pop music students in the music lineup, Sconefest brings together SA Country Women's Association (Adelaide Branch) scones with Beerenberg jams and Alexandrina Pure Jersey Cream with some equally delicious local original music. Your ticket covers your first serve of scones, so register now!

Peer support group for chronic pain
4pm to 5:30pm, 2 August - via Zoom
The Disability, Illness and Divergence Association (DIDA) welcomes students with chronic pain to join the DIDA pain support group at our August monthly meeting. Special guest speaker Assoc. Prof. Meredith Craigie will discuss the unique challenges of pelvic pain. Check the event details for more information and the Zoom link.

"Growing The Future" - SA's Biggest Agriculture and AgTech Careers Night
4pm, 11 August - Adelaide Oval
Join us for this incredible Career's night, organized by uni students for uni students! There will be a 3 course meal, drinks, panel discussions, guest speakers and networking workshops with 30 Agribusinesses. Tickets are $50 and shut August 2nd - so register now.

We understand Maths and stats can be part of your coursework in big and small ways. That’s why you can talk to a friendly tutor about anything mathematical if you drop into the MLC either face-to-face or online. Visit the MLC website for more information and opening hours.

Book a 30-minute, one-on-one appointment with a friendly Writing Centre Learning Advisor to work on your academic writing skills and start the semester with confidence. Visit the Writing Centre website to make an appointment.

Study with other people in your courses with Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS)
Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS) starts in week 2 of Semester 2. Visit the PASS timetable to find your course times and click the ‘Join PASS Group’ button to connect with your PASS leader on MyUni. Check course coordinator announcements for important session details.

Get out of hours support with your assignments with Studiosity
Get feedback on your work live or in less than 24 hours. Expert assistance is available on writing, maths, science and economics online from 2pm to midnight (Adelaide time) on weekdays, and all day Saturday and Sunday. Access Studiosity through ‘Assignment Help’ in your MyUni courses.
