Digital Skills Training led by Connected Nation In the past month, our Digital Skills Training Program reached 1,534 participants through 95 workshops with 32 organization partnerships. At the Lawton Public Library, the sessions saw an incredible turnout, thanks to the efforts of the library director, Kristin, and her staff who promoted the classes through newsletters and flyers. The participants, ranging from beginners to intermediate users, learned new skills in phone, computer, email, and Zoom usage. Kristin’s support, along with two additional staff members, ensured smooth sessions and personalized attention to each student. At Chickasha Public Library, though the turnout was smaller, the impact was still significant. Word-of-mouth connections brought these digital skills training sessions to Chickasha, showing the power of community engagement. One participant even expressed interest in leading future digital training at their church, with plans to use these skills for virtual Bible studies—a wonderful example of how technology can strengthen community ties. In Clarksville, TN, our training sessions with Vocational Rehabilitation Services attracted a diverse group, including employees, parents, and adults returning to college. The training covered vital skills like online safety and document management, empowering participants to confidently contribute to their communities and the workforce.
