What's happening in Week 9, Term 2 on campus... No images? Click here Sunday 22 June ![]() Message from Mike![]() Kia ora koutou, I hope you have enjoyed the Matariki long weekend with your families. As we approach the end of Term 2 this week, we have much to celebrate. Last night I had the pleasure of attending our Senior School Ball. It was incredible to see so many of our students in all their finery, embracing a very special school occasion and rite of passage together. Evenings such as this one illustrate the genuine sense of community we have at Pinehurst, with lifelong friendships and connections made. This week students and teachers alike are eagerly awaiting our annual College Cultural Market at lunchtime on Tuesday. An opportunity for our students to showcase the gastronomy from the variety of countries and cultures that make up our school. Our Primary students will experience a matinee showing of The Wizard of Oz this week, with opening night to the wider school community audiences on Wednesday evening. Having seen some of the rehearsals, I highly recommend you secure your tickets, if you haven’t already. I am looking forward to seeing stellar performances from this year’s cast and orchestra, and I also want to recognise the students and teachers who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make this show a high-calibre production. I hope to see many of you for Coffee Connect this Friday between 8.15am - 9.15am before our students take a well-deserved mid-year break. Term 3 promises to be packed with lots of exciting events and opportunities across all Year levels, and I congratulate each and every one of our students for what has been a very successful Term 1 and 2 so far. Best wishes for the final week of Term 2, Dates for your Diary![]() Tuesday 24 June

![]() Message from SianKia ora tatou, I hope you have been enjoying the Matariki long weekend and have been able to go out and about to experience some of the festivities with your children. We enjoyed meeting with you at parent conferences and are grateful that they are so well attended as we work together to support your child. Last week saw some fantastic wins for our Year 6 students with the top Girls Netball team winning Field Days for the second year in a row and our two Mathex teams winning second and third place out of 60 teams. We are so proud of them all! We ended the week with a celebration of Matariki where our Kapa Haka group took part in making bread and soup as part of the kai or food to go alongside the hangi. They worked hard, some of them attending the dawn celebration, and enjoyed preparing the food to share as well as eating it! For our last week of Term 2 we have Sports photos on 25 June along with Primary and College Buddy classes on 26 June and an exciting visit to a production of Seussical at the Aotea Centre for Years 3 and 4. As you might know, especially if you are a Year 3-4 parent, they have been rehearsing for their Term 3 production of Aladdin Kids. The trip to Seussical will be a fantastic way of preparing for their big show. On Friday 27 June we will have our second visit for Term 3 New Entrants and then finish for the term. We will of course keep working until the last day, continuing with our programmes, and making the most of opportunities to learn. Thanks as always for your support. This was a brand-new initiative, and the team collaborated with a wide range of creative ideas to bring it to life. The event was designed as a fundraising effort in support of the SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), giving students and supporters the chance to contribute to animal welfare through art. From planning to execution, the team faced a number of challenges, but through open discussion and teamwork, they created a meaningful and enjoyable experience for everyone involved. Thanks to the generous support of the community, a beautiful piece of pixel art was completed, and $800 was raised. The donations were successfully delivered to the SPCA in April. We sincerely thank everyone who contributed. The completed artwork will be displayed in the school soon.
