To register please RSVP here: Webinar Registration - Zoom (zoomgov.com) Department of Labor Budget HearingThis morning, the House Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies (LHHS) Subcommittee on the Committee of Appropriations held a hearing entitled “FY 2023 Budget Request for the Department of Labor.” Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh provided witness testimony to justify the Biden Administration’s budget request. Notably, Chair DeLauro and Secretary Walsh both highlighted the importance of the Strengthening Community Colleges Training Grant (SCCTG). To watch the recording of the hearing visit here. House Votes on WIOAThis week, the House of Representatives is expected to vote on H.R. 7309 – Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) of 2022. The bill reauthorizes WIOA programs, which were last reauthorized in 2014. Notably, this iteration of the bill would authorize the Strengthening Community College Training Grants for the next six years at funding levels of $100 million and above. 39 Amendments will be offered on the floor as part of the debate on the bill.
