Mount Lofty House

Valley View Room, Mount Lofty House

A retreat in every sense of the word, this unique learning and lifestyle experience is set in the historic and iconic Mounty Lofty House, nestled in the heart of the stunningly beautiful Adelaide Hills wine country. Our venue perfectly complements our retreat agenda and offers doctors and their spouses the opportunity to step away from the practice to evaluate the next steps to realise the saleable value of their business and plan for their retirement.

Delegates will be introduced to the four key principles of the practice valuation formula – they will also be guided, through both group and individual sessions, in the process of developing a succession plan tailored for their business and lifestyle needs.

Whilst the education agenda is focussed on learning, guidance and action-planning, we will also take advantage of the lifestyle offerings of our venue and surroundings through sumptuous meals, excursions and social gatherings lubricated by the finest wines of the region.

Disruption in Healthcare – Emerging Business & Lifestyle Models

Hobart & Freycinet, Tasmania
Thursday 18 to Sunday 21 August, 2022

The Henry Jones Art Hotel

Deluxe Spa Harbour View room

Day 1: Thursday 18 August
Hobart, Welcome Dinner

Our Tasmanian Tour begins in the island State’s capital, taking in its rich history, culture, and world class food scene.

On Thursday 18 April, delegates will arrive at The Henry Jones Art Hotel at their leisure. Our venue inhabits a thoughtfully reimagined, historical Hobart waterfront warehouse – we will be gathering at the ‘heritage dressed’ IXL Long Bar at 6.00pm for pre-dinner drinks and an informal introduction of the learning and lifestyle experiences ahead.

A brief early evening stroll, taking in the convict-built architecture of the precinct as well as the bustling port, will bring us to our welcome dinner at The Glass House – with sweeping water views of Sullivan’s Cove, it showcases Tasmania's finest food and unique, world-class wine.

Our dinner discussion will focus on Disruption in Healthcare and re-evaluating our role as healthcare providers. We will also introduce our Study Tour presenters and sponsors.

Day 2: Friday 19 August
Road Trip, Study Notes, Arrival at Freycinet

Our second day starts with an early breakfast followed by a 9.00am sharp departure. Comfortably seated in our luxury coach, we will have the opportunity to read through the course materials, articles and reports as we travel through the spectacular countryside of Tasmania’s east coast towards our destination, Freycinet Lodge. Overlooking the blue waters of Great Oyster Bay and with the rugged Hazards Mountain range as our backdrop, the unadulterated beauty of this secluded location in Freycinet National Park is second to none.

A bistro ‘lunch with a view’ is followed by 2 hours of thought leadership delivered in our conference room – we will further unpack the themes of disruption in healthcare, the business models required for success and the specific systems and initiatives needed for positioning our practices as truly patient centric.

The afternoon will allow for a couple of hours of rest & relaxation, or perhaps a wander around the grounds before pre-dinner drinks and a guided discussion around new models in wealth and lifestyle planning. Shortly after, we will be seated for dinner at The Bay Restaurant which boasts the best seafood in Tasmania!

Day 3: Saturday 20 August
Conferencing & Adventuring

Our morning of thought leadership picks up from last night’s wealth & lifestyle planning discussion and we introduce new, innovative finance packages designed to facilitate practice and personal growth strategies.

Further, we present an interactive workshop aimed at creating measurable, scalable, and targeted strategies designed to streamline your practice, and support and manage your team for growth.

Around 1.00pm, with packed lunch in hand, the adventure begins with a guided hike through the picture-perfect coastal and mountain surrounds.

Following our adventuring, a well-deserved longer rest this afternoon before gathering for pre-dinner drinks during which we will hear about a new concept in business, financial and lifestyle management, the Medical Family Office.

Dinner is served at 7.00pm with a chance to sample more of the Freycinet Lodge delicious local cuisine before sinking, with night-cap in hand, into the comfort of the log fire-warmed lounges of Hazards Bar.

Day 4: Sunday 21 August
Meet the Experts, Devils Corner Winery, Return to Hobart… & Home

The last day of our Tour will start with our one-on-one Meet the Experts session – an opportunity for a mini consultation with each of our subject matter experts - a chance to ask pressing questions, and have the ‘learnings’ from our time together tailored to your circumstances, challenges and opportunities – a very powerful exercise designed to convert the knowledge gained in to action!

Back on our coach mid-morning, Hobart bound, but not before a pit stop at Devil’s Corner Winery. With views to the Hazards Vineyard, Moulting Lagoon and beyond, we will cap off our magnificent long weekend at The Little Devil, for a private dining experience, with matching, award-winning wine.

Flights home beckon, and our coach will deliver us safely, and on time, to the airport or Hobart town for those staying on a bit longer.
