Good reasons for a ZELLCHEMING membership

Dr.-Ing. Tobias Wolfinger, Scientific Director Technikum Laubholz GmbH

  • What role does the paper, pulp or fibre-based industry play for you/your company?

A very decisive one. As a trained papermaker, the industry is the starting point of my professional career.

From an entrepreneurial point of view, we at the Hardwood Technical Centre work with the same raw materials, but completely new approaches.

The impact that the industry is already having in terms of the bioeconomy in Germany is a good example for everyone to follow this trend towards the sustainable use of renewable raw materials.

  • What made you decide to become a member of ZELLCHEMING?

I realized how important networking is in the sectors and beyond. Many entrepreneurs who do not yet work with products made of wood often do not know where to start when they have decided to transform their business to a biological raw material basis.

Just as the Hardwood Technical Centre is a bridge between science and industry in the transfer of technologies, I see my membership as an opportunity to bring together interested parties from other sectors and suppliers.

Dr.-Ing. Tobias Wolfinger

  • In what form would you like to be involved with ZELLCHEMING?

That remains to be seen. I'm looking forward to getting to know all the possibilities that exist at ZELLCHEMING.

The Expo in June is certainly a good start for everything else.

NEW: ZELLCHEMING Career Day

Following the publication of the program and the activation of the ticket shop, we would like to report on another milestone on the way to Expo 2023, which will take place from 20 to 22 June at the RheinMain CongressCenter (RMCC) in Wiesbaden:
The concept for the ZELLCHEMING Career Day has been worked out - and we are very much looking forward to this additional and innovative program highlight that will define the third day of the fair!

First of all, we would like to briefly name the most important key data of the CAREER DAY. It is an

  • an attractive platform for presenting career opportunities in companies
  • it is thematically limited and tailored to the needs of the target group
  • it relies on low-threshold offers for establishing contacts (online and live)
  • and is based on a large partner network with the most important educational institutions and sponsors in the sector.

"The ZELLCHEMING CAREER DAY is celebrating its premiere this year. It will significantly increase the attractiveness of the third day of the fair, involve another visitor target group and end the Expo with an exclamation mark. After all, this is a topic that will determine the future viability of this industry and we are convinced that we are creating another important growth pillar for the Expo!", says Petra Hanke, Managing Director of ZELLCHEMING Service GmbH.

The Career Day includes numerous elements that directly draw junior staff into the topic, for example an oversized social media wall that illustrates the sustainability and diversity of the pulp and paper industry and serves as an impressive background motif for posts. Or a Bar Camp as part of the stage program, where the audience votes on the topics and sessions via smartphone and anyone can act as a lecturer or moderator.

"The ZELLCHEMING CAREER DAY is also aimed at universities, educational institutions, personnel service providers, institutes, associations or other organizations. We will be traveling with a large group from Munich University of Applied Sciences and I know that other universities are planning similarly. Against this background alone, we expect significantly more than 400 additional participants and potential young professionals from our industry for this final highlight of the Expo," says Helga Zollner-Croll, the future chairwoman of the ZELLCHEMING association.

For students and trainees, the ZELLCHEMING Career Day offers direct and uncomplicated access to companies in the pulp and paper industry. Companies can pitch their jobs and internships directly on site or offer cooperation for theses. The young professionals thus have the opportunity to get to know different companies (both on the manufacturer and supplier side) and to get an idea of what they are like. An exciting lecture program gives the CAREER DAY its structure, which is flanked by numerous side activities.  These include, for example, a CV check & guide for social media profiles, but also a "Paper Rallye" with a prize draw.

The stand created especially for the career day will serve as a contact point and hub: The Meeting Point Future. It focuses on a casual, inviting ambience that invites you to linger and enables uncomplicated contact at eye level. Pin strings with printed job offers on the outer edges serve as eye-catchers and attract interested visitors.

Exhibiting companies can get involved in the KARRIERETAG through various package options. "We have put a lot of energy and creativity into the concept, creating the perfect stage to bring the industry and young talent together - and now we hope that our ideas and the opportunities we have created will be taken up. We are also happy to consider input and requests from the industry," says Petra Hanke.
