The way companies and individuals came together to support the Giving Trees for the Kids Out at Christmas campaign was something to be proud of. Equally important will be publication in January 2024 of the 2022/23 UWSP Impact Report which will show how we contribute to the regional economy and innovation ecosystem. An example of this is the recognition of Moasure being listed in the FT1000 of fastest growing companies in Europe on 149th position overall as well as We Are Digital making it into the Sunday Times 100 of fastest growing UK companies is a great success and an inspiration for our community. As we close for the year, we are looking forward to a year of growth as well as the celebration of our 40th anniversary, an exciting milestone for University of Warwick Science Park. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak visits University of Warwick for Horizon policy announcementThe Prime Minister today visited the University of Warwick where he announced the UK would re-join the EU’s flagship research scheme, Horizon. Tree Planting at the University of WarwickOn the 8th of November 2023, the Grounds and Gardens Team at the University of Warwick were joined by staff members to plant trees on campus. It was pledged that for every 50 responses to the Employee Survey, 1 tree would be planted, with 87 trees planted in total. Memorial Tree in Memory of David GrindrodWe were recently joined by family, friends, and colleagues of our former COO David Grindrod at University of Warwick Science Park to plant a memory tree, commemorating David's life and his many achievements. The tree has been planted by David's two children and takes pride of place outside The Venture Centre, the place where David worked for almost two decades. The gift of giving at UWSP this ChristmasIn the spirit of spreading joy and festive cheer, the University of Warwick Science Park has partnered with KidsOut Charity for the annual GivingTree initiative. This year, the University of Warwick Science Park has received an allocation of 250 gift tags for their Christmas trees at its four centres located in Coventry, Warwick, Binley, and Blythe Valley. Each tag represents a heartfelt wish from a child in need, and participants are encouraged to select a tag, purchase the requested gift, and contribute to making a child’s Christmas a little brighter. The GivingTree initiative by KidsOut Charity has been making a significant impact in communities across the country, bringing smiles to the faces of countless children who may otherwise go without during the holiday season.
