Blue & White Unite!

Auckland Rep squads will pull on the blue and white this weekend as the 2026 Spring Quad brings together Auckland, Northland, North Harbour and Bay of Plenty for two full days of representative bowls.

Across Men’s and Women’s Premier, Development and 1–5 Years, Auckland will take on all three rival centres over three rounds, creating a packed programme of 60 contests for the home side.

The Premier and Development combinations will battle across Singles, Pairs and Fours, while the 1–5 Years squads add Triples into the mix, giving Auckland’s junior players more opportunity to test themselves in the representative environment.

With six teams wearing Auckland colours and every rink point contributing to the overall result, the Quadrangular is about far more than one big performance. It is a full-squad challenge of resilience and consistency where momentum can swing quickly.

The opening event of the season provides an opportunity to test combinations and set the tone for the representative season ahead. This fixture creates important learnings as the squad’s progress through their campaign plans and build towards the Octagonals and Intercentre events.

President's Day: A Day for our People

Kohi Bowling Club was buzzing on Sunday as we celebrated President’s Day 2026 – a day dedicated to the volunteers and club leaders who give so much to bowls across Auckland.

This year, 30 teams and more than 150 people representing 29 clubs, the Auckland Umpires Association and supporters came together for a day of bowls, good food, plenty of laughs and a chance to simply enjoy themselves.

With club colours brightening up the greens, it was great to welcome representatives from across the region, including those who travelled from Waiheke, Piha, Maraetai, Bucklands Beach and Oratia.

A big thank you to our wonderful hosts at Kohi Bowling Club, led by Club President Jim Jericevich, for the fantastic hospitality and delicious lunch. Bowls Auckland President Helen Blick officially opened the day and later presented the prizes, with Mt Albert, Te Atatu, Royal Oak and Onehunga & Districts among the on-green winners. Oratia also featured in the prizes, while Maraetai took out Best Dressed and Pt Chevalier had the honour of the Youngest Player.

Most importantly, thank you to every volunteer and club leader who gives their time, energy and passion to keep our clubs and our game going. President’s Day is a great reminder of just how much our people do behind the scenes.

Thanks to everyone who helped make it such a memorable day – we’ll see you all again next year!

Auckland young guns shine at Burnside

Auckland’s young bowlers made their mark at the 2026 Burnside National U26 Singles, with some impressive results across the weekend – none more so than Liam Hill.

Congratulations to Liam Hill, who was crowned the 2026 Burnside National U26 Champion after three days of top-class competition featuring 32 players from New Zealand, Australia and the Cook Islands.

There was plenty more to celebrate for our Auckland players, with Anthony Ouellet finishing runner-up in Division 2, Henrietta Scott taking third equal in Division 2, and Adam Blucher finishing fifth equal in Division 1.

Hannah Dawson also made post-section in Division 2, reaching the quarter-finals, while Henrietta went one step further to the semi-finals. Henrietta was the highest-placed woman in the tournament, with Hannah also making an impressive post-section appearance.

A great showing from our Auckland U26 bowlers, well done team! 💙🩵
