Please also remember to not bring unauthorised friends or family into restricted areas such as PC2 labs. The 2023 online Annual Review of Progress is now live! The 2023 Annual Review is due by no later than 31 October 2023. We ask that you check your candidature record in MyAdelaide to see whether you are required to complete this milestone. You will not need to do an Annual Review if: 1. You are in your first calendar year of candidature (i.e. you commenced in 2023) 2. You were enrolled in the former Faculty or Arts or Sciences and have previously completed a Pre-Submission Review (PSR) or, have a PSR due within 3 months of the 31 October 2023 (please check MyAdelaide to confirm your due date(s)) 3. You have submitted your thesis for examination If you have a 2023 Annual Review milestone you are required to complete the Review, even if you currently on a Leave of Absence. Comprehensive information about the Annual Review can be found on the Adelaide Graduate School website, including our frequently asked questions. A virtual Annual Review Q and A session for students will be held on 30th August and repeated on 18th September. Further details including the registration link will be circulated in the coming weeks and advertised on the AGRS news and events page. Postgraduate Scholarship OpportunitiesThe Adelaide Graduate Research School maintains a searchable database of available scholarship opportunities (both full scholarships and supplementary scholarships), funded by both the University of Adelaide and external funding bodies. While the majority of available scholarships are awarded as part of the standard admission and scholarship rounds for domestic and international students, some are awarded at different times throughout the year, and may have a separate application process. The Australian Consortium for Social and Political Research Incorporated (ACSPRI) is accepting applications for a fellowship program for eligible PhD students. The fellowship will include a scholarship stipend of $10,000 per annum for 2 years. Applicants from the full spectrum of social science disciplines and cogent fields are welcome to apply. This includes the traditional social sciences (e.g., anthropology, economics, demography, psychology, political science, sociology, etc.), the emerging field of computational social sciences/social data science, and applied disciplines aligned with the social sciences (e.g., business, education, public health, social work, etc.). Learn more about these opportunities here Instats is offering a top-scholarship valued at $10,000 for remote internship opportunities here. 2023 Florey Postgraduate Research Conference The Florey Postgraduate Research Conference is the highlight in the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences calendar and a chance to showcase the outstanding research across the Faculty. The conference was held on Wednesday 2 August at the Adelaide Convention Centre with a record turnout of 130 HDR students presenting their posters. For the first time the conference featured a HDR promotional event. There were 20 exhibitors including Schools, Institutes and affiliate organisations such as SAHMRI, Lyell McEwin Hospital and the Basil Hetzel Institute. This event also included colleagues from overseas with Branko Aleksic from Nagoya promoting the Joint Adelaide/Nagoya PhD Program. Over 60 prospective students attended and we expect a number of these to take their first steps towards a research career by applying to commence a HDR program in 2024.
