Rutland County Featured in Vermont Biz
The June 2022 Vermont Business Magazine features multiple articles focusing on Rutland County's economic efforts. Pages 17-24 highlight how strong Rutland's economy feels. Lyle Jepson, Executive Director of The Chamber & Economic Development of the Rutland Region (CEDRR) is the first voice featured, saying, "he feels energy vibrating through Rutland County." Later in the
article, Jepson describes the Hub CoWorks, a co-working space and start-up tech incubator, developed through a private-public partnership between CEDRR and MKF Properties, anticipated to open in July. Rutland's Downtown, Brandon's Downtown construction project and Killington Mountain Resort and Ski Area are also featured. The Housing Trust of Rutland County is featured in their own article, explaining how the Trust has stepped in to propose redeveloping the former College of St. Joseph property in Rutland. The article says,
"If the trust’s executive director, Mary Cohen, had her way, plans for the project would include 75 to 100 units of mixed-use housing." The final article on page 24, features Rutland Regional Medical Center. The hospital has been working with an agency to hire travel nurses and doctors to fill open positions. It has also enticed workers by increasing pay and creating the "Grow Your Own LNA" program in collaboration with Stafford Technical Center, to encourage staff from other hospital departments to become licensed nursing assistants. A new logo (and brand) has been developed for use by the Town of Poultney. You may see it soon on highway signs, letterhead, websites and more! The logo was approved by a variety of local organizations (Poultney Downtown Revitalization Committee (PDRC), Poultney Rotary, Poultney Area Chamber of Commerce (PACC), Poultney Historical Society (PHS), Stone Valley Arts, and unanimously adopted by the Poultney Select Board in May). The logo was developed over the past year by the Goal 4 Working Group and the Castleton Content Lab at Castleton University, with Nic Stark guiding the process - congratulations Nic and the branding committee! They’ve worked hard to create a branding package for use by the town. Read more about the change →
