Manager's Message

It has been fantastic to see a strong response to the 3 Minute Thesis competition, with many video submissions coming through by the Friday deadline. These will be available to the University Community on the 3MT website soon, so keep an eye out. I’m excited to learn more about the variety of research being undertaken by our HDR students across the University.

Over the next couple of weeks we have some fantastic development opportunities, particularly for students who are looking to boost their CaRST credits in Domain D. Through these workshops you can learn more about engaging with industry, and boost your confidence in presenting and creating impact for your research. (Also, see the CaRST tip below for information on how to search for activities in a particular domain).

We also have some more on-campus workshops coming up in the next couple of months. With increasing positive COVID-19 cases in South Australia, it’s important to continue following advice from SA Health and the University. For in person CaRST activities, if you have any symptoms of COVID-19, even if mild, please cancel your registration and seek testing. We also recommend wearing masks where physical distancing isn’t possible, including at workshops, in line with SA Health recommendations.

Best,

Katy Dolman
Director, CaRST

Excel for Researchers

Data rarely comes in the form you require. Often it is messy. Sometimes it is incomplete. And sometimes there's too much of it. Frequently, it has errors.
