An ANA 3-minute thesis competition was held ahead of the visit for students enrolled in the Joint PhD program, with online entries judged by the six ANA Theme Leads. During the ANA Symposium, the top three presentations were introduced by Dr Chandnee Ramkissoon, who was among the founding cohort of Joint PhD students some years ago. In third place, Svenja Schmidt spoke about her PhD looking to develop nutritional and appealing foods for space travel and in second place, Robert Rintoul (who was visiting Adelaide from Nottingham) described the research he is doing to investigate astro-farming. The winning presentation was made by Tu Le Nguyen, on the topic ‘P(hosphate) fertilizer: from fast to slow’. I would like to congratulate all students who submitted their great videos and I am looking forward to hopefully seeing their entries in the University-wide 3MT competition.
