Feedback Needed for the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy
The economic development corporations and regional planning commissions in Chittenden, Addison, and Rutland Counties, and Central Vermont are working together to develop a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) for West Central Vermont. A draft CEDS is now available for review and we are soliciting your feedback. A CEDS is strategy-driven plan for regional economic development. CEDRR and our partners have developed a draft CEDS for West Central Vermont that meets the US Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration’s (EDA) requirements. Adopting a CEDS helps set a strategic course for economic development efforts. An adopted CEDS can also open opportunities for additional Federal funding for economic development projects and enables the creation of an Economic Development District (EDD). A brief video available online provides an overview of the intent and purpose of the West Central Vermont CEDS. While public engagement is still ongoing, other available videos provide a review of our public engagement process, key findings, and a review of proposed goals and actions thus far. The public comment period for the draft CEDS will be open until August 12, 2022. We encourage you to review the draft CEDS and provide your feedback. We appreciate your help in building strategies for economic development in the Rutland Region. Submit Feedback →
