The climate crisis could increase African country debts by $1 trillion
A new report published by Debt Justice and Climate Action Network International warns that Sub-Saharan African countries will have to take on almost $1 trillion in debt over the next ten years unless wealthy countries provide adequate finance to address the climate crisis.

Decolonising Monitoring and Evaluation
This event on 22nd Nov will provide space for members to examine and discuss work through historically colonial contexts of monitoring and evaluation, and to start the process of designing more equitable policies and practices around evaluation, research, and programme design.

Alliance CEO Frances Guy will be speaking on a panel at the upcoming Climate Emergency Summit in Glasgow on 16th Nov, exploring Scotland's global responsibilities for a just transition.

For all Alliance members, the AGM will be held virtually on 1st Dec. We do need a quorum so encourage members to attend this short virtual meeting, as well as put forth nominations for the board of trustees, particularly from the university or private sector, but all welcome!

COP27: re-imagining partnerships for adaption finance
FACING THE CRISIS
Each month, we highlight a photograph from Facing the Crisis, our virtual exhibition documenting the human impact of the climate crisis. This photograph, taken by Philippe Talavera, on behalf of Ombetja Yehinga Organisation shows 16-year-old Samantha, a passionate Namibian youth advocate, who has interviewed key people, from Ministers to UN country representatives, and visited projects to educate young people on what can be done. This specific photo was taken during Samantha’s interview of the United Nations Development Programme resident representative to Namibia, Mrs Alka Bhatia.
