REMEMBERING MARCUS URQUIAGADOM honors the passing of former Division Administrator Marcus Urquiaga It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of our friend and former colleague, Marcus Urquiaga, who worked for the DOM for over 12 years, primarily serving as our Administrator for the Divisions of Renal Medicine and Rheumatology. Marcus began his DOM tenure in Cardiology and later held interim roles in Endocrinology and Pulmonary. In 2022, Marcus left the Department of Medicine to serve as the Director of Business and Finance for Emory University's Laney School of Business, a role he continued to serve in until his passing. What truly set Marcus apart was not just his professional achievements, but also his character. He was a kind and generous soul who touched the lives of countless people with his compassion and warmth. He had an unwavering belief in the goodness of others and the power of kindness. Marcus was always there to offer a helping hand, a listening ear, and a genuine smile. Marcus will be fondly remembered by his many colleagues across Emory. Please join us in sending our sincere condolences to his wife, Panida, son, Justin, as well as his extended family, friends, and colleagues. Our hearts go out to them.
