Teaching in the Age of Generative AI Tools

This article offers an overview of ChatGPT and other chatbots that utilize artificial intelligence (AI) to produce written responses. We emphasize the importance of educators considering how to effectively integrate these rapidly evolving AI tools into their classrooms. To this end, the article recommends ways to address generative AI in their teaching, such as reconsidering teaching approaches, communicating expectations, including AI tools in assignments, and designing instructional materials. This article also includes sample language CBS instructors should consider including on their syllabi.
