Click here Monday 8 November 2021 Kia ora ,In today's update, the Prime Minister confirmed Auckland will move to Alert Level 3, Step 2 at 11.59pm, Tuesday 09 November. It is positive news for Auckland where retail shops and public facilities can reopen (with restrictions). Outdoor gatherings can also increase to 25 people. Again there are no significant changes for Unitec staff and students, including the Unitec library spaces which remain closed and one minor adjustment to click and collect services at Waitākere campus. More information below. LibrariesAlert Level 3, Step 2 allows public libraries to open, however, our Unitec libraries will remain closed and we’ll continue with the Click and Collect service. We share some of our facilities with Waitākere Public Library and as such have come to an agreement to reduce our Click and Collect service to two days –Mondays and Wednesdays, 9am to 12pm. Outside this time, our library will be closed and the Waitākere public library will have access to the facilities. Vaccination mandatesThere is understandably some uncertainty with vaccine mandates. A decision around mandates has not been made yet and Te Pūkenga is in the process of engaging Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) and Ministry of Health. As a subsidiary of Te Pūkenga, we will follow the guidance agreed at a national level and share the details around decisions as soon as it is made available. You can find updated guidance on Alert Levels, the new Traffic Light system and what they mean for tertiary organisations here. Over the weekend, all three Auckland District Health Boards achieved over 90% 1st-dose vaccinations bringing Auckland closer to the new Traffic Light system. If you have not been vaccinated yet, you can book through BookMyVaccine. If you are unsure, we encourage you to seek information from a trusted health professional or visit the Covid-19 website. Did you GetYaDot?On the weekend over 320 people got their 'dot' (vaccine) at one of the 'GotYaDot' events run across Tāmaki Makaurau. This campaign was supported by Unitec staff, students and your Unitec Student Council who also hosted an informal kōrero on vaccinations with over 40 students participating in the conversation. Plans are underway to host another korero in the next weeks via zoom which we will send through the details on once confirmed.
