COVID-19 Update

As the South Australian border re-opens the Synod office advises that there will be an email sent out later this week which will provide further information for Uniting Church congregations, associated agencies and staff.

Act 2 is a whole-of-church process and approach to discerning where God is calling us and how we move boldly and with faith into the future. Synod Expo - Have your say!

The recent round of Synod Expos were well-received by congregations. We now seek your input as to your experience of the expos. The survey will remain open till COB, Wednesday, 24th November, 2021. If you would like to provide your feedback, it will take about 10 minutes to complete.

Uniting Foundation Update

Every day the Uniting Church through its congregations and associated community and aged care organisations provides programs and services which bring hope and joy to South Australians. Spotlight

All Uniting Church members and congregations are encouraged to pray for refugees and asylum seekers with deep compassion and hope during the season of Advent and Christmas. The Synod Refugee Advocacy group has put together a two-page Refugee Prayer Guide.

2022 Calendar Orders now available!

The Synod's 2022 Calendar orders are now available. If you have opted to pick your calendar order up from the Synod office in Pirie Street, you can do so from Monday to Friday during normal office hours. Postal orders are being sent out today. Calendar orders can still be placed with details available on the Synod website.

Postcard orders now available!

For those congregations that have ordered the 2021 Christmas promotional postcard and/or posters these are also now available for pick-up from the Synod office from Monday to Friday during normal office hours. If you elected to have your postcard/poster order delivered to you, they are on their way!

 


Event Highlight

The Christmas by the Sea Community Carols event is being held at the Amphitheatre, Heron Way, Hallett Cove on 3rd December from 7.00  - 8.00 pm. This will be a great family night with carol singing, a band and special guest singer Adam Gooden. Free to attend and all welcome.

All other events (other than worship services) should be submitted via the Events form in the usual way.

Prayer Points

  • For the Act2 project and the important conversations taking place across the church at this time.

 


Reflection

What the ego hates more than anything else is to change—even when the present situation is not working or is horrible. Instead, we do more and more of what does not work, as many others have rightly said about addicts. The reason we do anything one more time is because the last time did not really satisfy us deeply.
