A series of activities (eg. team building, problem-solving, case studies) have been developed to represent stages of the PhD journey. The workshop appeals to a group of people who learn best from doing as opposed to listening. It is a chance to get involved in and learn from focused activities and learn some of the skills of working in a team. Date & Time

Priority will be given to PhD students who have been in candidature at least 6 months but are not in the final stages of writing up. EndNote for reference management – Advanced When: 24 April 2024, 11:00am - 12:00pm This session is designed to ensure you get the most out of EndNote by providing guidance on some of the more advanced features of EndNote. You will learn how to customise and manage your EndNote library, add and alter referencing styles, edit and modify your Word document using Cite While you Write and save and backup your Endnote library. Research outputs and metrics When: 1 May 2024, 11:00am - 12:00pm When it comes to applying for grants, awards and academic jobs/promotions, you will often be required to demonstrate your research impact. This workshop will discuss some of the research impact metrics that are available for you to use, and how and where to find them. Register here. This session, presented by Hugh Kearns of IThinkWell, will explain why high performing people often doubt their abilities and find it hard to enjoy their successes. Preparing for your PhD oral examination Are you curious about the requirements of the PhD oral examination process? If you are required to undertake an oral examination or considering opting in, you may be interested to know that a new MyUni course is available to help you prepare. The course will take you about an hour to complete, and provides an overview of the process, roles and responsibilities, and tips for preparing well.
