AGC e-News

Director's Message

Dear All,

On behalf of the AGC, I wish you and your families a safe, healthy, and successful new year!

2022 has not quite started the way we were hoping for, with COVID-19 still significantly impacting all of our lives. The University encourages staff and students to continue to work from home where possible. However, the University’s campuses remain open and you can access facilities and buildings with your swipe card.
In case you are unfortunate to test positive for COVID-19, please inform your supervisor and send a note to hrservicecentre@adelaide.edu.au.

There is also good news. The Australian borders are open for fully vaccinated international students and last week, the Government announced a visa fee reimbursement scheme. Any Student visa holder who is currently offshore and travels to Australia between 19 January and 19 March 2022, will be eligible for a refund of their visa application charge. For more information visit the DHA website. Please also monitor the SA Health website for the latest advice on testing and quarantine requirements. We can’t wait to welcome you here to our beautiful Adelaide!

The Graduate Centre front reception desk remains closed until further notice, but the Team will continue to provide our services while working from home. We encourage you to direct enquiries to us by email graduate.centre@adelaide.edu.au or phone +61 8 8313 5882.

In response to your feedback, we will also continue our informal virtual HDR catch-ups every first Friday of the month, 12pm – 12:30pm. The next meeting is scheduled for Friday, 4 February 2022. Watch out for the zoom link, which we will send to your email shortly before.

Please take care,
Doreen

Director, Adelaide Graduate Centre

Tip of the Month

The University’s Wellbeing Hub is a fantastic collection of resources which will help everyone find ways to have a successful 2022. There are tips on how to get more sleep, avoid procrastination, support your mental health, improve the health of your body, enhance your social interactions and relationships, and increase success with your studies. Most importantly, it includes how to get support if, or when, you need it.

Unique Student Identifier (USI)

A Unique Student Identifier [USI] is a reference number that creates an online record of your qualifications attained in Australia. All students need a USI  to receive a qualification upon successful completion from 2023.

To create your USI, please visit the Australian Government’s website. The personal details you provide here must be exactly the same as those on record at the University of Adelaide. Once created, log into Access Adelaide and enter your USI in the Statistical Section page, under the ‘Students’ menu. Please contact Ask Adelaide if you require assistance.

For international and offshore students, further information is available here; offshore international students are not required to provide a USI.

Change to Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

Please note the following change to scholarship eligibility: Students currently enrolled at the University are no longer eligible for scholarship consideration, as reflected in the Conditions of Award. Currently enrolled students are encouraged to regularly monitor the University’s searchable scholarship database for other funding opportunities that may be on offer to postgraduate research students, and to consider any local funding options available in their school/discipline.

Postgraduate Scholarship Opportunities

The Adelaide Graduate Centre maintains a searchable database of available scholarship opportunities (both full scholarships and supplementary scholarships), funded by both the University of Adelaide and external funding bodies. While the majority of available scholarships are awarded as part of the standard admission and scholarship rounds for domestic and international students, some are awarded at different times throughout the year, and may have a separate application process.

Visit the Postgraduate Scholarships website regularly for up to date information on current scholarship opportunities.

University Women SA Inc. 2022 Scholarships
