Your NYSF update is inside 👉 No images? Click here Hi Participants! Welcome to November! It’s 62 days until the start of the 2022 NYSF Year 12 Program (not that we’re counting) 🥳 We’ve got some more program updates for you, and some information about the STEM Visit Hubs and the social aspects of the program. Before we get to the fun stuff, we want to remind you that payment of your program fee is due this Friday 12 November. Please get in touch with us if you have any questions regarding the payment of your program fee. 📣 Program announcement 📣In the second week of the program, we have eight in-person hubs around the country plus an amazing digital hub line-up that week. The in-person hubs are in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Hobart, Melbourne, Newcastle, Perth, and Sydney! The best bit? If you want to do a little of both, you can! In 2021 we saw students mix and match sessions between in-person and digital hubs, depending on their STEM interests. Bookings open for the STEM visits at each Hub in early December, please note you will receive more details on each visit and how to book these via our regular emails and updates. As you can imagine, the COVID-19 pandemic brings with it some extra programming challenges. We are so excited to have these sessions locked in and announced, and we have a stack more that we are putting the final touches on. We will announce these over the coming month. Your NYSF Buddy! We’ll soon be matching you with another 2022 participant who will be your NYSF Buddy for the program. They’ll be in the same state or territory, and they’ll have just as much passion for STEM as you. It’s a chance for you to get to know another participant before the program starts and get excited about it together. During the program, you might not attend the same sessions as each other, so you can trade notes on what you’ve done and help each other on your STEM journeys. We’ll send out an electronic introduction to you and your Buddy in December, and you can choose to exchange other contact details after that. Your NYSF social groupsAs well as your Buddy, we’ll add you to a NYSF social group. You and your Buddy will both be in the same group, and these groups will form the basis of all the social events and interactions for the program. The groups are supported by two Student Staff volunteers who will organise group catch-ups before and during the program. Rotary and NYSF OrientationsAt your Orientation, you’ll learn what to expect during the program and meet representatives from Rotary, other participants from your district, and members of the Student Staff volunteer team. Due to COVID-19, your Orientation may be conducted online. Please contact your Rotary Club or District Chair if you have not heard about your Orientation date. Unable to attend the Rotary Organisation? The NYSF will be releasing an online Orientation soon, which will be available to all NYSF participants. COVID-19 updateEarlier today, you would have received an email from us with additional information regarding COVID-19 vaccination requirements and a link to our updated COVID-19 Policy. As we are still finalising the visits at each hub, and as government guidelines and visit host policies are being continually updated, we are currently unable to advise which in-person visits will require vaccination, and which won't. Rest assured that as soon as we have this information finalised we will share it with you, so you can take this into consideration as you plan your NYSF experience. Please also note that there is no need to send us a copy of your vaccination certificate at this stage. If we need it for a specific visit you will be attending, we will be in touch with you closer to January. Got a question?Check out the past emails and any FAQs you might have on our website.
