Another great initiative that is now offered to all HDR candidates is the free Mental Health First Aid Training. This two-day face-to-face course teaches people how to offer initial support to adults who are developing a mental health crisis or experiencing a worsening of an ![]() existing mental health problem, until appropriate professional help is received, or the crisis resolved. Possingham Supplementary Scholarship The Possingham Supplementary Scholarship supports postgraduate Higher Degree by Research students studying in the area of environmental sustainability. Environmental sustainability is defined in the broadest possible sense, and is open to applicants from any discipline (including but not exclusive to: engineering, law, mathematics, all the sciences, the social sciences and the arts) as long as the work has the potential to deliver a positive environmental outcome. Applications open on 1 April 2023 and close on 14 May 2023. Ian Wilson Liberal Research Supplementary Scholarship The Ian Wilson Liberal Research Supplementary Scholarship is available to HDR students undertaking postgraduate research which will lead to sound analysis and conclusions for reform capable of practical application and advocacy in Australia. The award is valued at $5,000 per annum for up to 3 years (tenure varies). Applicants must hold a major scholarship. For details regarding eligibility and how to apply, see further information.
