U.S. Citizens Recognized The Daughters of the American Revolution Kushkushkee Chapter recently returned to Literacy Pittsburgh to recognize students who became U.S. citizens in the past year. Thank you for celebrating their achievement! ![]() August Digital Skills Calendar Literacy Pittsburgh is continuing to offer more Open Lab time, new Intermediate level classes in Microsoft Excel, and the new Typing Club, a spin-off of Typing 101. This is an opportunity to come back and practice your typing at a scheduled time. New this month: Email in the Workplace (virtual and in person). This 3-session class will provide a review of email basics and etiquette with an opportunity to practice drafting messages for common workplace scenarios. Google Docs and Internet Basics are now 8 sessions to allow for more classroom learning and practice time. Dmitrii passed the PowerPoint exam and earned the additional Microsoft Office Specialist Associate level certification since he previously earned Excel and Word certificates. Congrats, Dmitrii! ![]() Portia earned three Microsoft Office Specialist certificates: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Three certificates allowed her to also earn the Microsoft Office Specialist - Associate designation. ![]() Jorge attends an English Language Learning group at the Crossroads West Church in Oakland. He was recently accepted into the Carpenters Apprenticeship Program at the KML Carpenters Training Center on Ridge Road in Pittsburgh.
