Thinking of starting a small business or need to document your business? Introducing Gale Business: Plan Builder - Wed 15 October 11am-11.30am

Documentation is essential for small businesses because it creates structure, supports consistency, and protects against risk. Whether it's standard operating procedures, contracts, or employee guidelines, well-maintained documentation helps teams stay aligned, reduces costly errors, and ensures compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. It also makes onboarding easier, preserves critical knowledge, and lays a solid foundation for scaling operations. Simply put, good documentation turns everyday chaos into organized, repeatable success. Gale Business: Plan Builder is an online, step‑by‑step business‑planning tool designed to help entrepreneurs, nonprofit leaders, students, or small business owners to plan, start, manage, and optimize their business ventures.

Exploring the National Geographic & Smithsonian Magazine Archive Wed 29 October 11am - 11.30am

This webinar will explore 2 key resources from Gale: National Geographic & The Smithsonian Collections
Gale’s National Geographic Virtual Library offers a rich, cross‑searchable digital collection that brings together the full archive of National Geographic magazine (from 1888 to the present) with complementary resources like National Geographic books, maps, images, and videos — all in one user‑friendly interface.
Users can browse by issue, explore by topic, or search across magazines, books, multimedia and maps. It’s especially valuable in education: students and researchers can use it to trace historical developments, compare perspectives over time, and access visually engaging content to support learning in geography, science, environment, culture, and beyond.
The Smithsonian Collections Online is a vast digital gateway to one of the world’s greatest cultural, scientific, and historical institutions. It offers students, faculty, librarians, and researchers access to rare and richly illustrated materials from Smithsonian museums, libraries, and archives — all digitized with scholarly tools for searching, analysis, and discovery. The materials are fully searchable, with tools like term frequency and cross‑search capability to help find themes & connections. It supports disciplines across the humanities and sciences: history of technology, social history, design & industry, media studies, aviation, etc.
