Have a look at the schedule here and meet your peers, join a club, or just enjoy some downtime. There are also heaps of activities when The University of Adelaide kicks off its 150th celebrations with Kaurna Day - Tirkanthi - Ngutu - Taikurrinthi (Learning – Knowledge - Be united together) on the 27th February; a day to immerse yourself and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and culture. Get up early and join the Sunrise Smoking Ceremony, witness information sessions and amazing musical performances, celebrate students’ achievements, pet native animals or attend cultural workshops and play traditional games. Abstracts are welcome from all currently enrolled higher degree by research students in the Faculty of Arts, Business, Law and Economics, University of Adelaide. Industry PhD opportunity – Bush Heritage Australia Bush Heritage Australia is inviting applications for a new industry PhD project at the University of Adelaide, titled: “Roos on the move: understanding kangaroo movement for improved conservation management”. This project will investigate the movement ecology of kangaroo populations, with the successful candidate having the opportunity to undertake fieldwork across Bush Heritage-managed reserves across South Australia. The candidate must be successful in receiving a University of Adelaide PhD scholarship in an upcoming round, and will receive an additional $10,000 supplementary scholarship. Students that have successfully completed an Honours or Masters degree in a related field are invited to apply. Free Health Measure Stations Available for All Staff and Students All staff and students can attend the free health measure machine at Hub Central North Terrace from 19 February to 19 March. The station will also be situated at the Waite and Roseworthy Hubs from 1 March to 1 April. No bookings required. The station measures blood pressure, heart rate, body fat percentage, height, body mass index, weight, smoking status, perceived stress and diabetes. University Library Read and Publish agreements University of Adelaide researchers now have access to 19 Read & Publish Agreements, providing increased opportunities to publish research open access without paying individual article processing charges. HDR students publishing can make use of these too! New for 2024 are agreements with APA, ACM, John Benjamins and Taylor & Francis.
