Across the school, there have been many highlights from the fields to the stage, and of course, there has been excellent progress made in the classroom. At the mid-point of the year, it is a good time to reflect on the learning that has been taking place across the school. In recent weeks, I have had the opportunity to read a large number of school reports, and a common theme emerges: our students are willing learners who possess the dispositions for long-term success. For our youngers students, I encourage them to reflect on the year to date and think about two or three things they could do differently as they approach the rest of the year. For our senior students, now is the time to ensure focus on exam preparation, making sure feedback is taken seriously, knowing that small margins can have an outsized impact in external assessments. Last night, I thoroughly enjoyed watching the Wizard of Oz, our College musical. The talent on stage was incredible, and most impressive was the age range, with students from Year 7 to 13 all appearing on stage together. Next term will see the turn of junior performers, and I look forward to seeing their performance of Aladdin. In sport, our teams' results across the school have been very impressive, with many currently leading their grade and others having already won their competitions. More important than the final results have been the drive of our students to keep improving. There is a strong culture of quiet determination growing throughout our sports programme, and term three will provide a great opportunity to showcase their ability at high-level tournaments. Throughout the term, I enjoyed seeing many of you at the consultation meetings held as we work on developing our site master plan. The insights from those meetings are valuable and form an essential part of the planning now underway with the school board. As the early stages of the plan become clearer, I will provide updates even as we continue to refine the long-term strategy. My thanks to all of the school staff who have given so much time and effort over the term, both in and out the classroom, as well as for all the behind-the-scenes work that continues to make our school a special place to be. As always, your ongoing support is greatly valued. The link between home and school plays a vital role in supporting your children's development. If you ever have any concerns, please get in touch so we can work through the issue together. I hope that you and your children are able to spend some quality time together, and I look forward to seeing you all refreshed and ready for the new term on July 21. Have a great holiday! ![]() ![]() Message from SianKia ora tatou, What a fantastic Term 2 we have had! It has been action packed, full of learning, creativity, athletic excellence, and achievement. We have also witnessed kindness, friendship, laughter, and real joy every day in our classrooms, playgrounds, and fields. I am sure we are all looking forward to a break, even if it means not waiting in the traffic in the morning and we will be ready to start Term 3 in three weeks' time. To look back on a successful term gives a huge sense of satisfaction and is the feeling I will take with me into the holidays. There have been so many highlights and reasons to be proud of our students, we love the full Primary events like Cross Country, Harold and the Life Education Van, Book Week, STEM Day, Grandparents Day, and Matariki because they bring us all together. The visits to Chelsea Sugar Factory, Seussical, Howick Historical Village and the Science Roadshow were memorable ways to engage with the curriculum. The successes in Netball Field Days, Basketball, Cross Country, and Swimming made us proud as did the achievements in Mathex. Every child should be proud of the progress they have made academically and socially; we know that we are. Wherever you go this holiday period I hope you can spend time with your family making happy memories. Take care and we look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday 22 July. Ngā mihi nui, Ngā mihi, ![]() Message from DawnTēnā koutou katoa What a fantastic way to wrap up a wonderful term! The Cultural Market on Tuesday was a very special event, with students, parents, and staff coming together to create a memorable celebration. I was lucky enough to be selected as a judge and had the pleasure of sampling some exceptional dishes which were reminders of the different cultures represented in our school. Thank you to all stall holders for your hard work. Our school production of The Wizard of Oz received glowing reviews. Congratulations to the talented cast and dedicated crew for delivering such a fantastic performance. You should now have received your child’s midyear report. These reports reflect the dedication, effort, and achievements of our students throughout the first half of 2025. Their hard work deserves recognition and celebration. Wishing you all a restful and enjoyable school holiday. I am looking forward to seeing students back at school on 22 July. Full winter uniform with blazers to and from school is expected throughout term 3.
