Mt Albert wins both Champ of Champs Singles titles

The weekend’s forecast was not looking too good, so the wet weather plan was implemented. This meant the Women moved to New Lynn, while the Men changed to artificial at Blockhouse Bay. Condensing onto C Green, the Round of 32 was split into two – six games played at 9.00am and six games played at 11.30am.  The knock-out format meant the winners would progress to the Round of 16.

Tournament Convenor, Les Smith commented, “It was great to see a wide range of clubs and the diversity in experience amongst club champs. Over the entire weekend, I saw plenty of sportsmanship and camaraderie among the players.  Heck, players were even thanking the officials, which is so gratefully received.”

Two titles in one day at ABC

29 April 2023
It was two Club titles in one day for Ryan Hill last Saturday, at Auckland Bowling Club!

Title one was the 1st year Men's Singles between Ryan and Aleksandar Milosavljevic (pictured left). It was a close battle to the final ends. Ryan was victorious.

Title two was the 1-5 Year Men's Singles. On this occasion, Ryan defeated Paul Neazor (pictured right).

What an achievement for someone his age - the future is bright for this member of the Hill dynasty!

Missing bowls!

Bridge Park has had about eight sets of social/coaching style bowls (pictured) go missing from its shed over the past months and is stumped as to where they could have got to!

They are of no value to any bowler, and they will definitely not improve one's game.

If anyone out there has any information or ideas that could help solve this mystery - you can contact: Phil Taylor at 027 575 8207 (confidentiality is assured.)
