Now that you have finished the program, you can help spread the word about the NYSF Year 12 Program and promote its benefits to your school and local communities. Here are some suggestions on how you can do this:
The following documents will help with your articles and presentations:
Check the 2022 Information for Participants page for the most up to date resources. While you might find some of the above tasks a bit challenging, everything is achievable and you will continue the learning experience that the NYSF offers. Being able to speak to groups of all different sizes, and report on activities you’ve undertaken will be really valuable in your future work and study, and this is a great opportunity to practice. For those who were unable to attend an in-person STEM visit, we are working with the visit providers to organise in-person events in hubs as part of our NYSF Connect Program later in the year. Further details will be sent at the end of February. Until then, the NYSF Discord will stay open throughout 2022, so you can stay connected with the NYSF and your fellow alumni to continue growing those STEM networks! If you won an NYSF STEM Challenge - congratulations! Please bear with us as we work to send out the prizes over the next few weeks. Watch the 2022 NYSF Year 12 Program session playlist! Applications for the 2022/23 Student Staff Leadership Program open in March, so keep your eyes on your email inbox for more details, and check in at the NYSF website for highlights from the 2022 NYSF Year 12 Program, and any upcoming NYSF events. Speaking of events... thank you to everyone who attended the AMAZING NYSF exclusive online event for International Day of Women and Girls in STEM day last Friday! I joined NYSF alumna and NYSF Staffie, Vaishnavi Muddam, science communicator and freelance TV presenter, Lee Constable; and the Australian Government's Women in STEM Ambassador and astrophysicist, Professor Lisa Harvey-Smith. The panel discussed our work to make STEM inclusive for women and girls, the importance of diversity, and the steps that are being taken to make it a reality. Prof Harvey-Smith reminded NYSF alumni about her Future You Australia challenge, so we hope you sent in some inspiring entries over the weekend! For those who were unable to attend the webinar, the recording has been uploaded on the NYSF website so you can hear all about the amazing work being done to support gender equity in Australia. Sincerely, Dr
