INVITATION TO ATTEND AN INDUSTRY BRIEFING WITH THE ACMA TO REVIEW:

  • SMS SENDER ID REGISTER

  • SCAM PREVENTION FRAMEWORK

Dear ADIA Members,

This week is Scams Awareness Week, a national campaign led by the ACCC and supported by the ACMA.

Illicit fraud activity continues to proliferate, generating consumer harms and also undermining legitimate commercial activities conducted online and by telecommunications channels, including those activities (like online surveys and SMSs) that are fundamental to the successful operation of our members’ businesses.

In response, the Australian Government, via the ACMA, is undertaking a range of regulatory activities aimed at 'cleaning up' the telecommunications space to make it safer for consumers and more productive for legitimate commercial operators.

ADIA has been working closely with the ACMA on these initiatives and is pleased to offer members a detailed briefing and Q&A session on the current status of the ACMA's SMS Sender ID register, as well as the overarching Scams Prevention Framework.

To participate in the confidential member briefing online on Thursday, September 4, 2025, from 3:45 to 4:30 p.m., please email Jen Hodge, Membership Manager, to register your attendance. In your registration email, also indicate any questions you would like covered in the briefing with ACMA.

I hope to see you there.
