The times, they are a-changin'

We welcome you back for the new school year and hope it's been a positive start to the year.

2025 is shaping up to be another big year for Gleebooks as we celebrate 50 years in business! Celebrations are set to be held later on in the year.

Our education team is growing.

After a huge year in 2024 and the growth in schools that we work alongside, we're working to ensure that you are serviced more efficiently.

We are delighted to have Karen Goes joining the team. Karen has worked as a librarian for over 30 years; as a cataloguer at the AGNSW Research Library, as a Reader's services librarian in public libraries, and lately as a teacher librarian in NSW public schools.  In her last position with the NSW Department of Education, Karen worked as part of the Oliver Library Management support team.

We also have the support of Amelia, to respond to emails and send orders when we're out at events.

New Ordering Process

We're asking schools to place their orders in one of two ways. The first is to email your order to education@gleebooks.com.au using the template in this link below.

If you can copy the template into a new document, fill in the coloumns highlighted in GREEN and send it through to us, that will help us to speed up the ordering process. We will fill in the details of when you can expect the books to arrive and return it to you.

If you require a quote or purchase order number, please let us know when placing the order.

The second way you can go about ordering is to place an order through our website. Select "Invoice (approved institutional orders only)" at the payment step, so we can give you a discount when invoicing. You won't need to pay at the time of ordering. This order will come through to the education team and we will take care of it from there.

Changes to Approval Boxes

We're making changes to what we offer to schools. The Approval Boxes that we send to schools twice per term are no longer being offered. This change has been made due to the time demands of ordering, packing, delivering, picking up and returning the books. Time was being taken away from keeping up with school orders. We've made the decision to prioritse the orders.

We understand that this may be disappointing for those who enjoyed receiving the boxes. There are a few options to help you keep up with new release titles.

Firstly, there will be an email sent at the start of term recommending new releases for schools. Scroll down to see term's picks.

Next, you can make an appointment to meet with our children and education specialists and discuss books for your school in the shop. We recommend aiming to make the time once per term to come in and see what's available.

We also host our Read the Room TL events once per term, where you're invited to come into the shop, browse our titles and chat with colleagues about the books their students are enjoying. Details of this term's event are below.

The Children's Selection page on our website is also regualry updated with new titles.
