Craig Moffat triumphs in thrilling Finale

Craig Moffat of Blockhouse Bay is the new National 1-8 Super Singles champion, having triumphed over Adam Batty from Levin Bowling Club in an intense final at Naenae Bowling Club last weekend.

In a nail-biting finish, Craig needed to draw closer than a foot and a half with his last bowl to avoid a tiebreak, and he delivered under pressure, securing his victory!

Teams fire up in opening round!

Last Sunday, 32 teams in four sections kicked off round one of the 2024 WinterClub, and some teams are already hitting their stride, taking out maximum points!

Perfecting bowls skills at St Heliers!

-- Sue Smith

What a turnout! This year, Junior Winter Coaching started on Saturday, 22 June 2024, with a keen bunch of new bowlers. Over the first three weeks, we have seen an impressive average of over 40 players each week at St Heliers.

During the seven weeks of coaching, we will cover:

  • Outdoor sessions: Technical skills, drills, and team games.
  • Indoor sessions: Laws, measuring, game tactics, strategy, mental skills, and guest speakers.
  • We had drills tailored for different skill levels, with each rink having a coach or assistant to provide personalised guidance.

After the coaching series, players are encouraged to participate in Canoe (men), Campi (women), and the ABCA Mixed fours tournaments.

A big thank you to our dedicated coaches, Catherine, Barclay, and Amy, and all those who assisted them. Your efforts are making a significant impact on our players!

Join us at St Heliers to enhance your bowling skills and enjoy the camaraderie of our vibrant community!
