Winterclub Finals Locked In
The comp is set. The venues are set. The weather? No worries there. But what isn't set is how Sunday's Winterclub Finals Day will play out.
Some unexpected results have shaken up the standings and thrown up some fascinating match-ups. From here, it's anyone's game!
Pringle Park Thunder completed a dominant seeding campaign to headline Division One, but perhaps the biggest surprise came in Section Four, where Epsom Eagles stormed home in the final round to snatch top spot ahead of the heavily favoured Howick Hammerheads.
With several strong contenders spread across the divisions, Sunday's finals promises plenty of close contests and maybe some drama!
Division 1 & 2 will be decide the championship at Royal Oak, while Papatoetoe has home advantage hosting Division 3 & 4... or do they? Watch this space!

Women’s Open Singles filling fast
The 2026 Women’s Open Singles is filling fast, with 65 of the 96 places already secured just two weeks after entries opened.
The field is shaping up nicely, bringing together experienced performers, next-gen players and some of the country’s leading singles players, including past champions Jessie Macaw (2024) and Lisa White (2025).
With just 31 places remaining, now is the time to get your entry in if you’re keen to be part of the action on 19–20 September.

Blackjacks set to host India in landmark international series

In 2026, New Zealand and India will celebrate 100 years of connection through sport, marking a relationship that began in 1926 when an Indian Army hockey team toured New Zealand. A century later, that connection continues through sport, culture and community, bringing people together across both countries.
As part of the 100 Years of Unity Through Sport programme, Bowls New Zealand is proud to welcome India for a three-day international bowls test series in Auckland from 16-18 November 2026. The series will see the Blackjacks take on India’s men’s and women’s teams in what promises to be a special celebration of bowls, culture and friendship.

New batch of champs on show

With the really big names of New Zealand bowls noticeably absent, nineteen hopefuls, while not exactly a bunch of ‘Nigel Nobodies’ turned up at Auckland’s Royal Oak indoor bowls club and seized the chance to chase men’s Champion of Champions singles glory.
Conversely, there were some more recognisable names in the women’s field and in the end Kirsty Hill added to the family dynasty with her breakthrough win to join dad Neville ‘Bones’ Hill and brother Jamie and son Liam as a shining star.
