Day 3
Tuesday 8 February
The overall competitiveness during this competition has been heartbreaking for many. More than half of the games went to tie-breakers. One unlucky team had five of their six games go to a tie-breaker! Unfortunately, they lost five games by one point. Talk about the cruelty of competitive lawn bowls.
Well done to all participants in this competition. The Finals are scheduled for Tuesday 15 February, held at Auckland Bowling Club. If Post Section is likely to be affected by rain, the venue will be moved to Remuera Bowls.

Pt Chevalier
5 February 2022
Billed as 'the most fun you can have in pairs' the Classic Pairs held at Pt Chevalier Bowling Club did not disappoint. Traditionally played over two days, this year, the event was condensed to fit into one day.
The tournament consisted of six short 8-end games, with each game being played in a different format: Hong Kong (2-4-2) Pairs; English Pairs (2-2); Aussie Pairs (2-2-2-2); 'Normal' Pairs (3-3); Shanghai Pairs (3-2-1 scoring for closest 3 bowls) and Bowls2Four (2 sets of four ends, with a power-play and tie-break).
Across both greens, the competition was cut-throat, and at the end of the day, only one team emerged with six wins from six.
Congratulations to winners Nick Thompson and Jenny Stockford (Pt Chevalier) and in second place were Kevin Morris and Jo McKenna (Pt Chevalier) with 5 wins and a draw.
Thank you to all the team who supported our novel tournament.
It was great to see you all embrace the different formats. We look forward to seeing you all again next year!
