Click here 9th August 2022Celebrating First Nations children and the hope of a new beginningLast week we celebrated National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (NATSI) Children’s Day on 4 August. The Uniting Church reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring First Nations children can shape their own future, grounded in culture and community. Uniting Aboriginal and Islander Christian Congress (UAICC) Interim National Chairperson Rev Mark Kickett encouraged Uniting Church communities to celebrate and commit to a new beginning and hope-filled future for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. Read more Celebration of MinistriesAs part of this year's Synod '22 meeting, a Celebration of Ministries service will be held at Adelaide West Uniting Church on Sunday, 21st August at 2.00 pm. This service celebrates ministry; those who have retired since the last Synod meeting; and those who are celebrating special anniversaries of their ordination. The service will be both in person and live-streamed online. Read more Synod Ecumenical Relations Committee AwardThe Synod Ecumenical Relations Committee (SERC) is grateful to the Synod for the continued funding of the Ecumenical Award which for 2022 was won by the Fulham-Henley Uniting Church. The award is given to a congregation each year that has done most to foster ecumenical relations within the local community. SERC is now calling for submissions for the 2023 award either in writing or electronically. Reflection of the weekAwesome Adventure Being ready for a holiday takes a lot of planning, thinking, and booking of places to stay, let alone packing. We had even prepared an itinerary of precise locations to stay at, on particular days, checking when specific activities and points of interest were open. We thought carefully about items to fit in the limited space - clothing, food, and equipment. We were set for our Awesome Australian Mid-Year Adventure!
