From inclusive programming, community wellbeing, and greater health, to the city’s enhanced economic competitiveness, a more activated waterfront helps build the path to Jacksonville’s long-term vibrancy, liveability, and prosperity.

JLP+D is now pleased to have been selected as part of a team led by Agency Landscape + Planning to create a new vibrant waterfront park that promises to further enhance the city's waterfront.

Connecting Community + City

Serving as Trusted Advisor in Gowanus

Brooklyn, NY

As part of a neighborhood rezoning agreement, the City of New York committed to approximately $450 million in community-designed investments that could have a profound, positive effect on Gowanus, Brooklyn for decades to come. Considering a history of unmet promises, community residents and stakeholders sought a new model of oversight - a Gowanus Oversight Task Force - that would offer more proactive dialogue and partnership with the City to ensure implementation.

JLP+D is proud to be serving as the task force's facilitator and liaison with 13 City agencies.

At the end of March, members of the public and elected officials joined the 30 task force members at their initial meeting and heard directly from New York City agencies on the status of the City’s commitments. These public updates will occur once every quarter for the foreseeable future.

"JLP+D is proud to support such a unique model of engagement. Congratulations to all the members for reaching this milestone and for all they do to ensure a more equitable and resilient Gowanus.”

- JLP+D Principal Ben Margolis
