Each year, faculty and staff are nominated for Department of Medicine awards in recognition of their outstanding contributions to their divisions, the department, the School of Medicine, and Emory University. The call for nominations will be in early May so start thinking of who you want to nominate. These honorees will be recognized at the 2024 Department of Medicine Kathy Griendling Honors and Awards Celebration this fall. Mark your calendars! Faculty Development Website Refresh Introducing the all-new webpage for CCPR (Career Conference Performance Review)! This is a one-stop destination for evaluation resources tailored to evaluators, those undergoing evaluation, and administrators alike. Find best practices for conducting evaluations, “how to” guides for administrators, and training videos for faculty. Remember, the CCPR deadline for the DOM is August 31, 2024. Save the date! Our 17th annual DOM Research Day will be taking place on Thursday, November 7 in the Emory Student Center. This event brings together researchers from all ten divisions across the department and provides an opportunity to share exciting new findings, facilitate scientific exchange, and identify potential new collaborations. Division of Rheumatology Walks for Lupus Awareness On Saturday, April 27, the Division of Rheumatology and Emory community members participated in the 2024 Walk to End Lupus Now as the Emory Team. The Emory Team has been supporting the lupus community at the LFA Lupus walks for over 10 years. This year, their team was the biggest team, with representation from many areas of our Emory community, including patients, staff, and clinicians from four different divisions, as well as researchers from public health, basic science, clinical trials, and health-related outcomes. Of special note, the Emory Team was also recognized as the second-highest fundraising team. Amazing job, all!

Tracey Henry presents at 2024 NAM Emerging Leaders Forum The 2024 National Academy of Medicine Emerging Leaders Forum was held in Washington, D.C. from April 16–April 17. General Internal Medicine faculty member, Tracey Henry, MD, participated in a panel discussion on Human Health and Climate Change. This panel explored the intersection of climate change and public health, emphasizing the urgent need for proactive measures to safeguard human health in a changing climate.
MEDICINE GRAND ROUNDSTomorrow's Medicine Grand Rounds is Canceled #MedicineGrandRounds Medicine Grand Rounds will resume on May 14, with the Karen L. Law Distinguished Lecture given by Mark your calendars! All upcoming sessions will be hosted on Zoom, and recordings will be available on the DOM YouTube channel for CME credits. NEW procedure for claiming MGR CME creditsThe process of receiving Medicine Grand Rounds CME has recently changed. CME credit will no longer be assigned by completing the survey. As of Tuesday, March 5, 2024, Medicine Grand Rounds, the Department of Medicine will use Emory's CME Tracker for CME credits. Please note, that claiming your CME credit is TIME SENSITIVE. You must text within seven business days of the CME presentation. Have questions or need assistance?
