The Community Connections Expo is all about connection. The expo will aim to showcase the diverse range of groups, clubs and organisations in our community, giving locals the chance to discover what’s out there, find people with shared interests, and take the first step towards belonging. Training Opportunities 19 February 2026, 10am-1pm Organisations that engage volunteers need to understand their legal obligations and how to legally and safely recruit and manage their volunteer workforce. This training will focus on the top legal issues you need to be aware of and provide additional tools and resources to help you confidently administer your volunteer programs. Charities and artificial intelligence GuideFREE Digital Guide This guide looks at artificial intelligence in the charity context, emphasising that while AI has the potential to bring about many benefits to those in the sector, and decision to harness AI is a strategic one that should be considered carefully by charities and their Responsible People. On-demand video: The Child Safe Standards - an overviewFREE on-demand video An overview of the 11 Standards and the minimum requirements that organisations need to meet. This fast-paced presentation covers an introduction only and is designed for child safety leaders. Understanding Grants and Grant Writing18 February 2026, 10am-12pm This workshop provides a practical overview, tips, and cautions for volunteer leaders navigating the complexity of grant searching and application processes. It is intended for those with limited experience, as well as experienced grant writers in NFP organisations who are seeking to review or share their practices. Funding Opportunities Small Grants ProgramThis program aims to support organisations in ensuring that communities are resilient in the face of social, economic, and environmental changes, while also making local support networks accessible and effective. It is built on the kindness and generosity of visionary philanthropists, as well as contributions from Trusts and Foundations. Grants of up to $25,000 are available. Closes 16 February 2026 Multicultural Capacity Building ProgramStrengthening multicultural organisations! Community organisations can now apply for funding to build capacity and support operations. Grants of up to $400,000 are available through the program. Closes 19 February 2026. Driving Mentors WantedWe need your help! Become a mentor and make an impact in a young person’s life in as little as 1-2 hours a week. Join the CALD Network Steering GroupThe CALD Network is a community-led group supported by Frankston City Council with the aim of making Frankston a more welcoming, inclusive place for people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Community groups working with or representing multicultural communities are encouraged to get involved - EOI's to join the CALD Network are open! This is a great opportunity to share ideas, collaborate with others, and help shape a more inclusive Frankston. Members also take part in community activities such as meet-and-greet events and cultural celebrations. |
