#31 Meee Moments (January 2022) Today is the chance to build the tomorrow we wantThe start of a new year is the perfect time to reflect on the previous year, to think afresh and to look ahead. Here at Meee we are excited about 2022 and the opportunities ahead for us to inspire everyone to find their magic inside. We are all unique, and we all have our own individual gifts to share with the world.
What's your story?Your life is unique to you. You decide who makes it into your pages, where you want to go and the experiences you want to have. Sharpen your pencil, pull out a clean page and write down what you really want. When you are clear on what you want, you can then work out the steps needed to make it happen. Look up the Reticular Activating System online - when you focus your mind on what you want, your brain will go out of its way to find it for you. Give it a try. Seeds of changeLast month we spoke about starting to plant the seeds for the growth you wanted to see in this new year. The seeds might represent your hopes, ideas and ambitions but the important thing is to make sure you nurture those seeds - identify what small steps can you make or who can you reach out to for support, be curious and ask yourself lots of questions. Your Reticular Activating System will then come into play again. Time goes by so fast. Use each moment to nurture your seeds and in a year from now you will be thankful you made a start today. The motion of the oceanHow can the ocean give us a lesson in progress? The ocean is in constant motion, driven by winds, tides and changes in temperature. How can we create our own motion so that we can grow and thrive? Be clear on what you want and make a plan. Take action, make a start and keep taking small steps. Reflect on what is working and what needs improving. Our brains love celebration. When we celebrate, it gives off feel-good chemicals which will motivate you to continue on your journey. So, celebrate your successes - no matter how small. I just called to say...Alexander Graham Bell was a teacher, scientist and engineer who is most famously known for being the first inventor to patent the telephone. Although he left our world 100 years ago, Alexander's interest in communication resulted in the development of something that changed the way of life for people worldwide, and has continued to do so throughout the century. For example, the internet works by sending beeps and sounds through telephone lines to other computers that decode the beeps and sounds into data. This would not be possible if Bell hadn’t figured out how to transmit these sounds. Communication is such an important part of all our lives, whether to keep in touch with loved ones or to share important information around the world. If you read more about Alexander you realise that his upbringing and his relatives helped to shape him into the man he became and led to this amazing invention. Here at Meee, we recently met a student who was born blind and this amazing young lady has inspired us to adapt our resources to be more inclusive. We all have the ability to influence those around us and by sharing our knowledge and by collaborating, we can all make a difference. Do It Anyway, a poem by Mother TeresaPeople are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centred; Forgive them anyway.
