Mt Albert Southern carpark partially open until end of 2023

Today, and until the end of the year, a section of the southern carpark will re-open as, after initial works, the developers do not need access to the whole carpark yet. This is great news, offering 120 free parks during the busy exam period.

In other good news, all parking will be free during the summer semester break, from 27 November 2023 until Sunday 25 February 2024.

A reminder of where to park

Please refer to the below map that highlights parking spaces around campus, access roads. It is also shared on our website.

We’ve noticed that several carparking areas around campus are underutilised, suggesting people may not be aware that they can park there. These are all paid parking options:

  • Gravel carpark by B60/61 (the former Osteopathy clinic).
  • At the eastern end of the campus - turn right after entering via Gate 4 and use the parks on the right side of the road (note the parks on the left side, closest to the Concentrix building, are not for our use - see the map).
  • Around B48 including the front, back and gravel car park.

Our paid parking plan applies to all carparks (except the temporary free spaces in the southern carpark) Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm for all staff and students. However, payment is not required during Unitec Semester breaks or in the weekends. You can use any parking meter to pay for your parking, not just the one closest to your carpark.

If you have questions about parking logistics please email carparking@unitec.ac.nz.
