![]() Welcome to the latest edition of the North Sydney Olympic Pool e-newsletterOur monthly updates will help keep you informed about the pool redevelopment progress, key milestones, and details about our upcoming state-of-the-art community facility, as we move towards the final stages of construction. Project updateCouncil’s contractor, ICON, is reporting that the pool construction will be complete by May 2025 due to delays with the structural steel for the 25m indoor pool roof, which is currently in dispute. Once the completed facility is handed over to Council, we will need to commission and prepare the site for opening, which will take up to 3 months. Our priority remains delivering a first-class facility that meets the needs of the community and we will continue to keep you updated. Since the last update, we have completed the structural steel ramp for the heritage Eastern Stair Tower. This is a major milestone, allowing wheelchair users or people with prams to access the new lift and all levels of the facility, including the gym, gelato bar, sundeck and outdoor pools. The gelato bar on Level 2 next to the newly constructed sundeck is nearing completion, with the structural steel framing and waterproofing finalised, ready for pavers to be installed. Underfloor heating and tiling in the Level 1 changerooms is complete. The Level 1 amenities have been waterproofed, with tiling and fixtures to follow, and Level 3 is up next. The site's future internet cabling is also now connected. For all the latest information, please see the Council Meeting Report - Monday 9 December 2024. This month our Manager Leisure and Aquatics, Duncan Rennie, has an update on how the pool's heritage features have been conserved during the redevelopment: We hope you’re finding our North Sydney Olympic Pool e-newsletter informative and look forward to keeping you updated with future editions.
