Peer Advisor Position

The incumbent will provide peer-to-peer mentorship to the University community. Tasks could include, but are not limited to strengthening interpersonal skills, assisting with mentoring, and providing academic assistance.

Project Coordinator, Department of Psychology, University of Pittsburgh

The Families, Emotions, Neuroscience, and Development (FEND) Lab at the University of Pittsburgh, directed by Dr. Jennifer Silk, is seeking a Project Coordinator to coordinate an NIMH-funded study, the Teen SCREEN Study, co-directed by Dr. Silk and Dr. Cecile Ladouceur. The purpose of this study is to better understand how adolescent girls’ social media experiences, other social interactions, and the brain influence daily fluctuations in mood, suicidal thoughts and behaviors, and symptoms of depression.

Responsibilities:
• Recruit participants by serving as a clinical liaison for local inpatient, partial and outpatient clinics, managing a social media campaign, and participating in community outreach
• Conduct neuroimaging, parent-adolescent interaction, and eyetracking/psychophysiology assessments
• Orient participants to ecological momentary assessment (EMA) and passive data collection and monitor compliance/troubleshoot issues
• Process data and supervise undergraduate processing and coding teams
• General project tasks including data tracking, preparing study materials, report preparation, routine IRB correspondence

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, or related field
• Minimum of 1 year of research experience
• Evidence of excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
• Demonstrated interest in adolescent mental health.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in pursuing graduate school in child clinical psychology and/or developmental/social affective neuroscience. The selected applicant will receive training in suicide safety assessment and multi-method research approaches. Opportunities for mentored independent research are available.

Community Monitoring Specialist

Glade Run currently has Community Monitoring Specialist positions available in Butler, PA. The Community Monitoring Specialist works with adults and juveniles that have been placed on electronic monitoring, alcohol monitoring or drug screening as a condition of their probation and will be responsible for communicating with the adult and juvenile participants in regards to coordinating hook-ups, schedules, conditions of the program, and assisting participants in accessing community resources.

This position pays $19.00-$19.50 hourly based on education and experience and offers full benefits, paid time off, paid sick time, paid mileage reimbursement and access to agency vehicles, up to a $2000 new hire incentive bonus and the opportunity for overtime. This position also offers on-call pay at $80.00 per night with on-call rotation every 5 to 6 weeks with a 5 team member rotation.

2 Full-time Clinical Research Coordinators, Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School

We are currently looking to hire 2 full-time clinical research coordinators (start date summer 2024) to join us at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School and assist with NIMH- and American Foundation for Suicide Prevention-funded studies aimed at improving short-term risk prediction for suicidal behavior in adolescents. A primary interest in suicide and depression research is not required for these positions. Rather, we seek candidates with the character and potential to excel in our lab and beyond, regardless of their specific clinical research interests.

The research coordinators will work under the mentorship of Dr. Richard Liu and Dr. Taylor Burke at Massachusetts General Hospital. These positions are particularly well suited for individuals seeking to gain research and clinical experience prior to graduate or medical school.

Individuals who demonstrate potential and excel in this position often have opportunities to receive mentorship on conducting independent research projects and grant-writing. Full-time Research Assistant, Harvard University

Under the supervision of Dr. McLaughlin, the individual in this position will be involved in an active research lab with several large grants and participate in many aspects of the research process, including recruitment of children and adolescents into research, preparation of IRB applications, data collection from children and caregivers, data management, programming behavioral tasks, and maintenance of a database for participant recruitment and tracking.  These duties will primarily focus on either an intensive repeated-measures fMRI study examining dynamic changes in emotion, behavior, and brain function following exposure to stress in adolescents. Data collection for this study involves acquisition of psychophysiology and MRI data in addition to assessments of mental health and exposure to stress and adversity.

Full-time Lab Manager, VIrginia Tech

Applications are invited for a full-time lab manager position in the Mental State Processing and Psychopathology lab directed by Dr. Chloe Hudson in the Department of Psychology, Clinical Science area at Virginia Tech. This position will begin in Spring or Summer of 2024. Our research focuses on the foundational social and metacognitive skills that are involved in the accurate consideration of internal mental states (e.g., emotions, thoughts). We are particularly interested in how individual differences in mental state processing contributes to a variety of important outcomes, including psychopathology, meaningful social relationships, and the effectiveness of psychotherapy. To this end, we study the full spectrum of health and psychiatric illness, with a particular focus on internalizing disorders. More details about our work can be found on our website.

Primary responsibilities will include: recruiting, screening, scheduling, consenting, and running participants through study protocols; collecting, entering, managing, and ensuring quality of participant data; supervising undergraduate research assistants; assisting with IRB management, grant applications, data processing and analysis, conference presentations, and manuscript preparation.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in psychology, cognitive science, or related field; one year of human subjects research experience; demonstrated organizational, time-management, interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work with data programs (e.g., R, REDCap) and experience conducting diagnostic interviews are also desirable, but not required. 

The start date for the position is flexible.
