PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Continuous improvement at the Education Standards Board

The Board has reviewed its strategic plan to ensure it aligns with our Regulatory Practice Statement, as part of our commitment to continuous improvement of regulatory practice.

We've also updated our website with new menus and a dedicated Guidance and forms page to replace the previous 'resources' pages. Here you will find factsheets, useful links, guidance articles, webinars and self-assessment tools to guide continuous improvement in daily practice at your services.

Check and update policies to reflect current child safety law

The Department of Human Services had a provision in place (Work on Application Provision) in the Child Safety (Prohibited Persons) Act 2016, where people could work at a service while their Working With Children Check (WWCC) was being assessed, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. This provision has ceased. Please check and update your policies to reflect the current law.

If you have any questions about WWCC checks and associated policies, please contact the Department of Human Services Child-Safe Environments unit at DHSScreeningUnit@sa.gov.au or 1300 321 592.
