Campaign update

£87.5 million dormant asset funding

In November 2024, the Department for Culture Media and Sport (DCMS) announced an equal share of funding for the four named dormant asset causes over 2024-2028. The Community Wealth Fund will receive £87.5 million from the Dormant Assets Scheme over the next four years, alongside funding for youth, financial inclusion and social investment wholesalers.

Further details will be published in a Dormant Assets Strategy in due course.

National Lottery Community Fund announcement

The National Lottery Community Fund has announced it will be contributing £87.5 million to the Community Wealth Fund, matching funds allocated from England’s Dormant Assets Scheme over 2024-2028 to take the total funding amount to £175 million.

Community Wealth Fund Alliance reaches 800 members

In October 2024, the Community Wealth Fund Alliance marked a major achievement with its 800th member. Reaching this milestone demonstrates the wide-ranging support the campaign has across a range of sectors.

End-of-year reception

In December 2024, we held an end-of-year parliamentary reception to celebrate the campaign's continued progress. The event was hosted by Noah Law, MP for St Austell and Newquay. It was a pleasure to be joined on the day by a wide range of parliamentarians, members of the Community Wealth Fund Alliance, representatives from Big Local areas, and colleagues from across the voluntary and community sector.

Listen to some of our speakers reflect on the Community Wealth Fund campaign and how the funding could make a difference in the neighbourhoods with greatest need.
